What is the Accessible Information Standard?
The Accessible Information Standard requires NHS and publicly funded adult social care services to provide information in accessible formats (such as large print, braille, email or audio) for people who need it.
Despite this, only 11% of patients covered by AIS have equitable access to the NHS, and many people face serious risks to their health and wellbeing as a result.
