Thanks to your campaigning, the UK Government has made some concessions to its Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment Bill. However these don’t go far enough.

“PIP is my lifeline. It helps me stay independent.”

The changes still planned could strip blind and partially sighted people in the future of hundreds, even thousands, of pounds each year, and would create a two-tiered disability benefits system.

To find out more about the plans and why the concessions put forward by the UK Government are not good enough, read our news item.

Without this support, many people with sight loss in future will struggle to afford essential mobility aids, home adaptations, assistive tech, and transport - exactly the things which people need to live independently and with dignity.

We can’t let this happen.

MPs will be voting on the planned cuts in Parliament on Tuesday 1 July. Join us in calling on your MP to vote against the plans to protect the benefits which enable blind and partially sighted people, now and in the future, to live independently.

Emailing your MP is simple. Just fill out the form below and you'll be taken to the template email addressed to your MP. Then just press "send".
